Who are flowcultura?

flowcultura Ltd was founded by Marianna Karagiannakis in 2015, when she fled the corporate world to help create ‘flow' in business through people.

‘Flow’ is a concept named by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and defined as "the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement and enjoyment in the process of the activity." During this optimal experience they feel "strong, alert, in effortless control, unselfconscious, and at the peak of their abilities.” Achieving this state requires one to find the activity enjoyable and stretching (but not too much), with clear sight of the end game or goal.

‘Cultura’ is the greek word for Culture. Marianna is Greek Australian, hence the tip of the hat to her Greek heritage. She was born and raised in Australia and moved to the UK some years back.

Marianna left Sydney for London with 4 of her best friends ‘for a change’... 10+ years on and she’s one of two still standing!

Recognised as a credible Business and People Transformation professional, Marianna has a particular passion for and expertise in improving people's Engagement and Experience at work, developing and embedding Company Culture & Behaviours, Leading people through Change and Coaching for Performance.

With over 15 years experience holding in-house business leadership roles, and more recently consulting, she has led cross-organisational change, shaped and managed company culture, coached business leaders and executives and devised bespoke people strategies within the Technology, Fashion, Financial Services, Utilities, Health and Media industries Globally.

Outside of work, Marianna absolutely loves travel, is a bit of a foodie, and can't get enough of the sea & sun!

Caroline Butcher

Programme Coordinator and Content Specialist

With 20 years' experience working in customer-facing roles, Caroline's passion is people and she firmly believes that creating and sustaining a healthy company culture is the key to greater engagement and success.

Caroline loves to connect with those on the front line of business and tap into their experiences, which is reflected in the content she writes for flowcultura as she explores the human impact of what's happening in the wider corporate world.

Aside from her professional endeavours, Caroline has a slight addiction to Grey's Anatomy and enjoys reading, crafting, learning new skills and spoiling her dog.
